Van Dievel Transport boasts following assets:

Our staff members form our capital

Our staff members form our capital
Skilled and dedicated collaborators are of vital importance to service industries. For this reason, VDT has perfected a detailed hiring and selection procedure. New staff members are chosen with the utmost care.

For the past few years the deliberation with the largest group of co-workers, the drivers, has been structured into a discussion panel called ‘C-Platform’. This group, composed of 5 elected drivers, consults with management about a variety of pending issues on a monthly basis.
Discussions with the administrative staff members are held weekly.

All employees benefit from regular training and schooling sessions. In addition, every 6 months the truck drivers participate in training meetings organized within the company.

Well-equipped fleet of vehicles

Van Dievel Transport owns about 60 tractors, mainly DAF XF, the newest generation of which boasts an environment-friendly EURO-3 engine. Soon this will be replaced by the EURO-4 motor. Since 1995 all tractors have a computer on board.

Van Dievel Transport also owns 120 specialized trailers. Most are multipurpose tautliners which, depending on the loading / unloading technique, can be opened from the back, the side or the roof.
The drivers helped selecting the trailer most suitable for Van Dievel Transport’s transport needs.

Preventive maintenance leads to a purposeful purchase policy and even to a more efficient staff deployment. Our tyre supplier has been charged with preventive follow-up of all tyres as well.

Finally, when equipping our trucks, we focus a lot of attention on the safety of the drivers and of the other road users. On all tractors 'blind spot mirrors' have been fitted. In addition, the newest trucks have been equipped with a 'blind spot camera'.

It must be mentioned here that, additionally, a 'blind spot window is being installed in each tractor's right-hand side door. Today 13 tractors already show this important safety feature .

Apart from other items, the trailers are equipped with reflective strips. VDT's tractors will soon be rigged in the same manner.

The Company as a coherent Unit

The pivotal point of Van Dievel Transport's operation is the planning department. Nearly on a non-stop basis, planners monitor all trailers by location and assign them according to the orders they receive.
Our planners are aided by computers. They retain the overview of the orders, the final control of the trips' scheduling and stay in touch with the drivers.

The planning department is supported by the administration which is totally computerized as well.

The important challenge now faced by Van Dievel Transport, is to integrate the software used by the planning, the transport and the support departments into a coherent structure.
The road to full integration may still be long and difficult, yet Van Dievel Transport today is fully committed to realize this goal.

BothVan Dievel Transport’s management and staff members enjoy the challenge to deliver quality services at competitive prices.
At this moment,Van Dievel Transport is formally rewriting its quality program in conformity with ISO-9001 standards.

Van Dievel’s goals remain the same: to adapt to the ever-changing (sometimes daily!) transport needs of a number of customers and to execute orders, for all customers, within 12 working hours after receipt thereof.

By sticking to that purpose, Van Dievel Transport in fact just follows its own motto: ‘Van Dievel, a Devil in Transport !’
